Few things can capture the freshness and liveliness of a sitter quite like the Alla Prima, or direct portrait. I will share my experience, techniques, and insights into this special form of portrait painting with a different painting demonstration each of the three days, and students will follow. They can expect to learn how to create juicy colors, dynamic brushwork, and intriguing design under the special timing considerations required to paint a portrait all at once.
