Painting the Child Portrait 2

Master Realism. Create Something Timeless.

This 3 session course is a followup to the original “Painting the Child Portrait” course offered in 2025.  Students will be refreshed to the original concepts (techniques, anatomy, and elements to create a timeless work of art), and introduced to deeper insights into child portrait.  A heavier emphasis will be placed on the use of preliminary painting studies to test composition related to child portraiture, and deeper insights into anatomy. . Students should expect to complete several studies and one finished painting. Having taken the original course is not a requirement to follow along and take away all the information presented in this course.  Sessions will be available for students to rewatch.

This online Zoom course will take place over 3 Saturdays.  Participants can watch the lecture/demonstration and ask questions.  They will have optional homework, which they can submit for critique each week.
